This year, our Tyler Packaging Family all agreed we wanted to spread some Christmas joy to those children less fortunate. ‘Operation Christmas Child’, a mission ran by the Samaritans charity who collect shoeboxes filled with gifts for children all around the world, was the perfect opportunity, and ticked all the boxes to help us make a child’s Christmas that little bit more special.
Each member of the Tyler team generously contributed items such as toys, puzzles, colouring books, toiletries, and clothing and we were able to jam pack a total of 15 shoe boxes. An afternoon was dedicated to sorting through the gifts and lovingly wrapping the shoe boxes in Christmas paper.
We printed barcodes and attached these to the shoeboxes to enable us to track the progress of these and see where the present is delivered – we cannot wait to take a look at this in January and to see what part of the world we were able to spread some festive cheer.
At Tyler Packaging we will now endeavour to contribute to Operation Christmas Child every year, and make this one of our annual Christmas traditions.
Operation Christmas Child began in the UK in 1990 ran by the Samaritans. It has become an annual thing for many, including over 700 schools, churches and workplaces. The shoeboxes are handed out in local communities at various outreach events worldwide.
