On Friday 15th September, we held a surprise Baby Shower for Emma and Ilona, who are due to go on maternity leave in just under a months’ time. We secretly planned this a few weeks prior, with the team selecting a list of items to bring in for a buffet, ordering some baby themed cupcakes, and a collection was made so we can also buy the new mums to be some lovely gifts.
We started off the day with the first surprise to Ilona and Emma, as they walked into the office to see it decorated in honour of their baby shower (which a few people started setting up the night before).
We later then all gathered around to present Emma and Ilona with their gifts. Everyone in the office was so excited to see their faces as they opened the thoughtfully selected presents – choosing these had been hard as we don’t know the genders! Within the presents were some cute baby grows, with some tiny boots to match the outfit. As well as this, they had mum and dad mugs, and also a candle to inspire some calm and relaxation for the mums to be.
After the present opening, it was time for two rounds of Emma’s favourite game, Bingo, switched up to a baby theme to match the day! After the two rounds, won by Magda and Emma, we were able to tuck into the delicious lunchtime buffet.
The buffet was put together by Levi’s famous sausage rolls, picnic snacks, crisps, meats, sourdough bread, Ilonas appetizing chicken salad, and some fizzy pop, all brought in by the members of the team. Everyone really enjoyed the buffet; we have a thing for good buffets here at Tyler! We also enjoyed the beautiful cupcakes made by The Cakery in Leamington Spa for pudding – they tasted as good as they looked!
This was then followed by a quiz, which had two rounds, Baby General Knowledge, and True or False, again staying with the theme! After many difficult questions, the quiz was won by Magda. We all then filled out some baby predictions for the mums to be to take home, which concluded the days events! We all had lots of fun at the surprise baby shower, and we are excited for Emma and Ilona, who are due at the end of October / start of November! We can’t wait to meet your new bundles of joy.
