Supporting charities and sponsoring local events allows Tyler to give back to our community and aid those helping people in need. We strive to contribute to important causes such as feeding the hungry, providing shelter for the homeless or vulnerable and supporting education, or children’s sport. We feel that by supporting or sponsoring local charities or organisations, we are investing in the wellbeing of our community.
As part of our Employee of the Month scheme, our team are able to donate to a charity of their choice. Such great causes we have donated to in recent months are The Myton Hospices, Home Start, Cancer Research and The British Heart Foundation.
We make a monthly donation to the UN World Food Programme. Established in 1961, the UN WFP is the worlds largest humanitarian organisation, and they help to save and change lives in over 120 countries around the world. Over 828 million people go to bed hungry every night, and we can all play a small part in helping this wonderful organisation in the work they do to eliminate world hunger. Closer to home, we have been making regular donations to the Warwick District Food Bank who provide emergency food and support to local people and are working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. We have also made donations to JCT Coventry Food Bank – not only are food banks vital for helping to feed those in need, but they offer additional support to help to resolve the crisis people are facing so they do not need to return to foodbanks in the future.

We recently volunteered for Coventry based charity Cyrenians. Their moto is “more than a roof” and supports vulnerable or homeless people to secure their own home and be part of a community. Coventry Cyrenians celebrates turning 50 this year, and it was the perfect opportunity for us to help them in raising awareness of the amazing job that they do with the local community, and to share some of the inspirational stories of their service users.
The Myton Hospices is a charity particularly close to all of our hearts. With hospices in Warwick, Rugby and Coventry, Myton believes that everyone matters for every single moment of their life and focuses on enhancing life when cure is no longer an option. Myton needs to raise over £10.5 million every year to provide their service. To help as much as we can, we have sponsored their Golf Day for the past two consecutive years, and will continue to do this, and more, for as long as we can.
We have been sponsoring local sports teams for many years. Our sponsorship will help the teams to maintain their facilities which offers vital exercise and socialising for the community, children, and adults alike. One of our long-standing sponsorships is Berkeswell Cricket Club who we have sponsored for many years, and more recently our very own team member Sam has joined the team.
A more recent sponsorship is Wellesbourne Wanderers U14 Football Club. This great team includes our team member Magda’s son, Benji. A great community football team allowing children to keep active playing the sport they love!
We also sponsor Stratford Town Football Club, over 50’s and the Leamington and County Golf Club.
To make the world a better place for everyone, we all need to play our part in whatever way we can. Maybe that’s through volunteering, raising funds where possible, sponsorship, or simply trying to be as kind as possible to people we connect with in our day-to-day lives.
We are very proud of the effort we make here as a team at Tyler Packaging, and we will continue to help those in need as much as we can.
